HeartNotes features HeartScan Minnesota as easy test for early signs of heart disease.
A program of:
Coronary Artery Disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women.
For many people, the first sign of heart disease is a heart attack. And, heart attacks can occur when there is as little as 30 to 50 percent narrowing of the arteries. Unlike standard stress tests that can't detect calcium deposits until the narrowing is at least 50 percent, HeartScan Minnesota gives you an inside view of your heart's health - giving you a personalized calcium score.
At a cost of $100, a heart scan from HeartScan Minnesota is a simple, inexpensive way to get an inside view of your heart's health.
Who should have a heart scan?
Anyone, age 35 to 79, with one or more of these risk factors for heart disease is encouraged to call for an appointment.
- Family history ?
- High cholesterol ?
- Smoking ?
- High blood pressure ?
- Obesity ?
- Physical inactivity ?
- Diabetes ?
What to expect
A CT scan can detect heart disease in its earliest stages. Early detection means it's still possible to slow, stop or reverse heart disease.
CT / heart scan
Coronary CT angiography uses a special type of CT scanner to get a three-dimensional view of your blood vessels. This allows doctors to see whether plaque has built up in the artery wall that may cause a future heart attack or symptoms.
