The renowned cardiovascular services of Abbott Northwestern Hospital and the Minneapolis Heart Institute have come together in the creation of Abbott Northwestern's Heart Hospital.
The heart hospital is a 256-bed facility that provides new, expanded space for the cardiovascular program, and new inpatient space for neuroscience, orthopaedic and spine services.
The facility was designed with input from physicians, nurses, staff, families and patients to create a healing environment around a patient-centered model of care.
The heart hospital provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient cardiovascular services in one facility. Services include:
the Minneapolis Heart Institute outpatient clinic
diagnostic testing facilities
cardiovascular and electrophysiology laboratories
a center for cardiovascular surgery
128 patient rooms that provide a positive, soothing environment
integrative therapies and a lifestyle management center
educational and business centers for patients and families.
