All sleep studies performed at the Abbott Northwestern Hospital Sleep Center are conducted in a comfortable, secure, private bedroom.
Tests commonly done in our sleep laboratory are:
Polysonogram (PSG) - This test is performed on patients while they stay overnight at our facility. It evaluates the quality of nighttime sleep, monitors sleep patterns, breathing, heart activity, brainwaves and body movements.
Multiple sleep latency test (MSLT) - This test is performed on the day following a polysonogram to evaluate the degree of sleepiness and the patterns of sleep during daytime naps.
Maintenance of wakefulness test (MWT) - This test monitors a patient's ability to stay awake over time.
The Sleep Center is in the Minneapolis Neuroscience Institute located in the Piper Building on the Abbott Northwestern Hospital campus. To schedule a consultation or for more information, call 612-863-4516.
