Infusion Center

Abbott Northwestern Hospital's Infusion Center provides outpatient care that is individually tailored and convenient for patients with specialized needs. The Infusion Center allows patients to have their treatment and return home in the same day


Our services

Our primary function is to provide treatment to patients with infusion-related needs. The center offers a variety of specialized treatments and procedures that include:

  • chemotherapy

  • PICC line cares

  • bladder installations

  • blood transfusions

  • bone marrow biopsies

  • injections
  • iron therapy
  • vaccines
  • hydration
  • IV starts
  • phlebotomy
  • central line cares and draws
  • IV antibiotics
  • PDT injections
  • IV immune globulin
  • Remicade infusions


Infusion Center Experts

Physicians, nurses and pharmacists work collaboratively to provide compassionate care based on the individualized needs of each patient. As a team, they strive to address the emotional, as well as the physical needs of the patient.


Our nurses are specially trained and dedicated to providing exceptional nursing care. They are sensitive to the unique needs of oncology patients and are able to answer questions about treatment and side effects. They staff also assists patients with scheduling follow-up appointments and tests and provides access to available resources.


Dedicated pharmacists are available to provide consultations and instructions regarding medications. They can also answer questions about herbal therapies and supplements a patient may be taking while treated.


Our pharmacists and nurses provide one-to-one medication and supportive care counseling and instructions. They are available to answer questions or address concerns about a patient's treatment.


The healing environment

The Infusion Center offers a relaxed and friendly atmosphere that promotes patient comfort and supports a healing environment.


Spacious private rooms allow patients to have loved ones present to offer support and companionship during treatment. Each room is furnished with a comfortable recliner, private bathroom and television. The Center offers a few rooms that are also equipped with beds for longer infusions or for individuals who are unable to tolerate sitting in a recliner. A VCR and DVD palyer are available for use by patients. A selection of videos and CDs are available to entertain or promote relaxation.


Accessing our services

Contact your primary physician for an initial assessment and referral to our services. They can schedule your appointment by calling us directly at 612-863-4034. Our team will work closely with your physician, follow your progress and provide the most comprehensive care.


Our hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
