Spiritual Care at Abbott Northwestern HospitalTo reach the Spiritual Care office, call 612-863-4370. ChaplainsChaplains are available to patients and their loved ones to provide support, comfort, guidance and advocacy. They respect all religious or spiritual preferences and collaborate with hospital staff to give patients the best care possible.
Our staff chaplains are, or in process of becoming, board certified in the Association of Professional Chaplains. Interfaith chapelEwe Memorial Chapel is always open for prayer and meditation. It is located on the first floor of the hospital near the main lobby. The chapel regularly hosts these services:
Services are televised on Channel 3 and available for viewing in patient rooms. Sabbath, holy days and special commemorative events are also observed as appropriate. Other spiritual resourcesSabbath and Hanukkah candles, prayer books, rosaries, Bibles, the Qur'an, and Buddhist and Native American materials are available in the chapel or upon request. Clinical pastoral educationStudents from the Allina Clinical Pastoral Education Center minister to patients, families and staff as part of their educational program. Accredited by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Allina Clinical Pastoral Education trains chaplains at Abbott Northwestern and other Allina metro hospitals.
