I am a member
of the UCC (United Church of Christ). I was born in
Lancaster, PA and raised in Vancouver, BC Canada, but
Minneapolis has been my home since 1982. I have 5 adult
children, ranging in age from 18 to 24. I have been a
volunteer chaplain for the past four years and have
served on the mission board of my local church. My
undergraduate degree is from the Univ. of Oregon in
education and I received my Masters of Divinity from
United Theological Seminary in May, 2010. This is my
second experience as a chaplain at Abbott Northwestern –
my first was as an intern in the summer of 2009. With my
children, I love exploring the outdoors, especially
hiking, biking and skiing. I also thoroughly enjoy
traveling with them and have visited most of the
countries of North America, Europe, Asia and Africa. I
especially enjoy India, which I have visited several
times, and Kenya, which I visited while on a mission
trip with my local church.

Columbia. My careers have included nursing assisting and
social work. I am a graduate of St. Catherine University
in St. Paul with a goal of working as a Chaplain once
this resident year is over. I am the 6th of nine
children as well as being a fraternal twin. I live in
community in Bloomington with my housemate Jess and our
two cats Sebastian and Luca. I enjoy going to the
movies, listening to music, spending time with my
friends and traveling to new and interesting places.
Finally, one thing most people don’t know about me is
that I have sung with professional choirs.

I have worked
as a registered nurse for 23 years at United Hospital as
well as St. Paul Children's hospital, NICU. Following a
life threatening illness, I felt a calling to minister
to people with serious or chronic illness. I became a
Pastoral Care/Family Life Pastor at a church in St. Paul
in 1994. My passion is to be a listening ear as I walk
along side hospitalized people as they face serious
situations. I have done extensive study in grief and end
of life issues. I completed an undergrad Bible degree
from Global University, Springfield, MO and was ordained
in 1999. Presently I am completing my Masters in
Advanced Theological Studies from Northwestern College.
I have been married for 32 years and have three adult
daughters and one son in law.
