Visiting hours

General hours

General visiting hours are any time, depending on a patient's condition and need for privacy and rest.

Hospital entrances are locked from 8 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. If you are visiting a patient during those hours, please enter the hospital through the Emergency Department entrance. (See map)

Mental health units

Visiting is scheduled around patient therapy programs in the mental health units.

Adult unit visiting hours are generally:

  • Monday through Friday: noon to 1:30 p.m, and 6 to 9:30 p.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday: 1 to 9:30 p.m.

Child and adolescent unit visiting guidelines are as follows:

  • Only legal guardians and siblings may visit on weekdays, Monday through Friday, 5 to 9 p.m.
  • Family and friends who are 18 years or older, and friends who are 17 years or younger and accompanied by the patient's legal guardian may visit on weekends, Saturday and Sunday, noon to 9 p.m.

Number of visitors

The number of visitors allowed in a patient's room at one time depends on:

  • patient and family need
  • the nurse's assessment of the patient's condition
  • whether the patient is in a private or semi-private room.

A request of visitors

We ask that people who have symptoms of a contagious disease (cold, flu, etc.) not visit patients. Parents are asked to supervise their children while famlies are visiting patients.
